I'm a blogging failer

Yep, We are still alive. This time of year is my busiest as far as dance team. Our state competition is March 16th and 17th at the memorial coliseum. I have been really involved this year with designing the show, choreographing, etc. So it's kind of a big deal for me.

Brody is doing great. I am so blessed to have him. I know not all babies are this "easy", but I'm glad the Lord knows me to bless me with him. He is such an angel. He hardly ever cries where I'm not sure what he's saying. He goes down for bed and naps without a fuss unless I misunderstand him. He has become a lot more talkative which has been really fun for Tim and I. He can say "mum" and "Dadada" and I'm just going to keep thinking he means us because it makes me feel good :)

He loves baths. That is father son time and they both love it. Tim will be getting the water ready and Brody will look at the tub and get so excited and will try and leap out of my arms. He gets the goofiest grin on his face when he realizes whats happening. He will kick and splash a little, and then relax on Daddy till he's all pruney. It's so cute

Brody is 9 months now and figured out crawling this past Sunday the 6th. He is so excited now that he has figured out a more efficiant way to get around. Monday night he was so exsausted practicing his new skill he slept all night. He's got 6 teeth with two more coming in on top.

Tim has a new job! He is doing what he is good at and enjoys doing. He is working with a brother in our ward who is a maintenance contractor. He's only working a couple days a week while the gentleman builds his company back up. With in 6 months or so, Tim will be running his own crew and have a flexible schedule to help Brody and Me. The brother from our ward is really impressed with Tim and his techniques. There is at least one thing a week Tim has saved time and money on by doing it a little differently, and fixes the problem with a better outcome. He is so talented and I'm grateful I have such a handy husband that enjoys being handy.

Brody Eyes

Since Brody was born, Tim and I have been curious about what color his eyes will be. We started taking close up pictures to try and capture their progression. I think he is set on a color now and it's been fun to watch them change.

Green it is!

Nicknames

It's funny how many nicknames and pet names come out when addressing your little one. I think Tim and I have gotten a little out of hand, it's kind of ridiculous.

Brody is 5 months old

Brody is so fun. He is starting to really laugh and smiles at everyone. He weighs a whole 16 pounds and I think he was 24 inches at his last appointment. I Love having him around to listen to his stories. Hes got lots of them. These are a few of my favorite pictures. I keep trying to post videos but my internet is too slow I think.

Roll over

Last night Brody decided to roll over in his crib while battling sleep. Tim and I both missed it but Tim noticed on the monitor that he was on his back when he remembered laying him on his belly. I went down to help him back on to his belly since it was time for bed. When I got to him, he is so pleased with himself. Not grumpy anymore, all smiles. So I picked him up since he obviously wanted to show off his new skill. I layed him down on the blanket upstairs; which he was ok with since he got to stay up later. He wouldn't roll over for us because he remembered he was tired and I put him back to bed. He then woke up every two hours, after he so graciously gave me 8 hours the night before. That was a nice but short lived I guess

Testimony

This past Sunday was fast and testimony Sunday. Usually I sit quietly in my seat watching everyone Else's testimony grow, too scared to go up myself; full of doubts on what to say. Then I sit there while my chest is pounding trying to plan it out, knowing I'm going to forget everything I prepared as soon as I get to the pulpit. So rather than making a fool of myself, I just sit instead and let my testimony stay lit from the stronger ones around me. The previous fast Sunday I did just that and let everyone else go ahead, even though I felt the need to get up. There were a lot of people that day so there wasn't much time anyway. Determined to make sure I feel that feeling again, I made myself get up and start walking this Sunday. It was an awesome feeling having my body propelled up out of my chair and walking by my starving spirit. This was the first time since Tim and I have been married that I bore my testimony in sacrament meeting, excluding talks. Pretty sad I know. I was shaking and a mess when I got back to my seat but I had smiling faces greeting me back. To make things even better, My sister Melanie works most Sundays but had this past Sunday off. She too has been married 5 years and hasn't shared her testimony since she has been married. She was holding Brody and she stood up, I thought maybe to walk with him but she kept walking, not out the door but to the front! Her husband and I just looked at each other in awe followed by tears. Her words were so sweet. It was a great day.

I have lately been trying to listen to any inkling or whisper; Big or small, weather I understand it or not just to make sure they don't stop coming. I want to try to bare my testimony every fast Sunday for a year. If I don't have a burning pounding feeling, then I should sprint to the pulpit.
